Private Cache
Private Cache is compatible with Leopard, Snow Leopard, Lion and Mountain Lion.

Brief Description:

Private Cache was developed to offer you a fast and easy way to protect private data from prying eyes.

Mac Version 1.1.0 is compatible with Mountain Lion's default security, is Intel, and uses a new icon. Windows Version 1.0.1 uses an installer and is compatible with Win 7. If you are a Pocket Cache user, you can use the same password; your data will be retained.

It is always a good idea to backup My Secret Info text in a separate file before updating to a new version.

Both Mac and Windows XP versions support accented characters, including Japanese, French, Spanish, Russian, Greek, Afrikaans, German, Korean, etc.

privatecachelogin

When you launch Private Cache, you see a log-in window. The password must be at least eight and no more than twelve alphanumeric characters. The first time you log in, you are asked if you want to use this password for this and future sessions. If you click on the "OK" button, your password is saved in a protected manner and My Secret Info window opens.

PrivateCacheSecretInfo

You can type or paste text (no photos) into the My Secret Info window. The "My Secret Info" window may be resized by dragging the bottom right corner. Text searches can be be case sensitive or case insensitive. When you are finished entering information, close the window to save the information in a protected manner.

My Secret Info must have at least three characters or the field will be blank. It is a good idea to add "THIS IS THE LAST LINE." plus three empty lines at the bottom of the text.

If you want to start fresh, the password and information files can be deleted using the Reset All menu pick before you enter your password.

My Secret Info information can be printed from the File menu item.

PrivateCacheFileData

Above is an example of the "protected" data. Although not encrypted, the "protection" should be strong enough to protect your private data from the casual snoop.
