Random Names is compatible with Lion (10.7) and higher.
Random Names was developed to generate random full names, useful to authors, and others. Random Names is freeware.
When you launch Random Names, you see a small Control Panel with one control as shown above. The Up/Down control lets you set the number of random names you would like to generate. Drag the Control Panel somewhere out of the way. Its location will be saved automatically when you quit the application.
Click on Names / Show First Names to bring up the First Names Window shown above where you can add and delete names. When you add names, the table is sorted alphabetically. You can clear the table, add names and save the list to a file (for loading later) or load the default list of 164 first names. The names in the table are saved automatically when the window is closed.
Click on Names / Show Last Names to bring up the Last Names Window shown above where you can work with last names.
To print a number of random full names, set the Control Panel's Up/Down control for the desired number and click on File / Print Random Names. Above is a sample of random full names, using random First Name and Last Names. The sheet has five Full Names per row. You can also see or save a pdf file.
To make a plain text file of random full names, set the Control Panel's Up/Down control for the desired number and click on File / Save Random Names to a File. Above is a sample of random full names, using random First and Last Names. The file has one Full Name per row.
When you quit Random Names, the Control Panel's position on the display, the number set by the up/down control, and the information in the First Name and Last Name Windows are saved and reloaded at the next session.
