Name This Tune is compatible with Leopard, Snow Leopard, Lion and Mountain Lion.
Name This Tune was developed to help you have fun testing your knowledge of your iTunes songs by playing a game.
Version 1.4.0 is compatible with Mountain Lion's default security, is Intel, and uses a new icon.
iTunes should not be running when you launch Name This Tune.
Above is what you see when you launch Name This Tune. Your playlists are presented in a table. Double-click a row (other than Library) to see the names of all songs in that playlist.
When you click on the "Start" button, you will hear ten seconds of a song chosen at random from the selected playlist. You can ask for another ten seconds by clicking on the "Need More Time" button. Click on the drop-down menu arrow to see five song names; one of these is the correct answer.
Click on your answer and click on the "Enter" button. If you are correct, you will be awarded ten points and the beginning of the next song will be played. If you are incorrect, one point will be subtracted from your score; click on "Next Song" to continue the test (game). The goal is to identify twenty songs correctly. If your score is in the highest ten scores, your name and score is added to the scores table. If you prefer, you can use the cursor-down arrow to open the drop-down menu and choose a song title, click on Enter/Return to make the choice and click on the Enter/Return again to enter your answer.
If you wish, you can make the window smaller by clicking on the small arrow at the left. This will hide the playlist and song titles lists.
Scores are saved between sessions.
